My Motivation - Why RVS Trustee

I’m passionate about advocating for both students and parents, and I’m deeply invested in the future of our children. I want to help make our schools the best they can be—supporting not only academic achievement but also the overall well-being of students. As someone with two young children (ages 9 and 5) currently attending school in Rocky View, I understand firsthand the needs and concerns of local families.

For the past three years, I’ve proudly served as the School Council Chair for Langdon School. In this role, I’ve listened closely to parents’ questions and concerns and worked collaboratively with administration to elevate their voices. With my background in legal support and advocacy, I believe I can make an even greater impact as a school trustee. I’m running to represent Ward 2 because I want to ensure that rural areas like East Rocky View have strong representation and that all voices—rural and urban alike—are heard and respected in decision-making.

I’ve had the privilege of working closely with a previous trustee, who has been an incredible mentor. She helped me understand the vital role a trustee plays in shaping education, policy, and accountability across the division. Inspired by her guidance, I now want to support others in the same way.

Serving as a trustee would be an opportunity for personal growth in leadership, communication, and decision-making—but more importantly, it’s a chance to give back in a meaningful way. I’m committed to being a thoughtful and dedicated voice for our community, ensuring that every student in Rocky View has access to the high-quality education they deserve.
