Let me introduce myself, my name is Sara Roth, wife of Mark Roth, and a mom of two children currently in Rocky View School Division (RVS), Grades 1 and 5 in Langdon. I would be honored to be your Ward 2 RVS Board Trustee.
I am a Paralegal and Commissioner of Oaths in and for Alberta, having graduated as valedictorian from CDI College in 2013. After thirteen years in the legal field, I chose to devote more time to my family. I have deep roots in rural Alberta— having lived in Caroline, High River, Blackie, where I served as Vice Chair and fundraising coordinator for the Blackie Community Association. We moved to Langdon in 2021. I currently serve as the Chair of the Langdon School Council. I have volunteered as team treasurer and year-end coordinator for the Indus Ringette Association, a T-ball coach with Langdon Little League and a Girl Guides leader.
When I am not using my voice, passion and determination to fight for what our kids and communities deserve, I am cheering on my son and daughter at their hockey or ringette games. In my down time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and traveling with my family.
A school division trustee is an elected community member who helps make important decisions about local schools. I will represent the interests of students, parents, and teachers within a specific area (or school division). I will work with other board members to oversee the budget, set policies, and ensure schools have the resources they need. I will also advocate for education improvements and help solve problems in the local education system. Essentially, a trustee is the voice of the community when it comes to education.
I am running for RVS Trustee (Ward 2) because I’m passionate about advocating for students and families. With two young kids in the division and three years as Langdon School Council Chair, I’ve seen the real impact trustees can have. I want to be a strong voice for our rural communities, helping shape policies that support all students—urban and rural alike. With my legal background and community experience, I’m ready to make a meaningful difference.
Trustees are elected to serve the public—and that starts with listening. I’m committed to being accessible, informed, and truly connected to our community.
I’m here to listen. Whether you’re a parent, student, educator, or community member, your perspective matters. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas about our schools, I want to hear them.
